Meanwhile, she thought.

One afternoon, Gabriel decided to stop procrastinating and finally get out of bed after a fortnight which felt like a year to her. Her positive unicorn spirit was upping her pessimistic stay in bed soul. She decided to have lunch all by herself and embrace her solitude for once than dig deep into the reasons why she felt so alone. She had read about this pretty place called Fables and decided to visit keeping her social anxiety at bay. She put on her pop culture referencing T-shirt, her comfortable trousers, a beanie and thought, “That’ll keep people at bay.” When she got out of her house, she decided to get a cab instead of a bus, as she’d have to face only the cabbie and not the random strangers who’d stare at her for strangeness. Gabriel was bald, wide eyed, pouty lipped, but still managed to look beautiful. She knew she was beautiful yet strange for the society to accept her. She reached Fables in her over-priced cab and talked to the receptionist...

Time.

Time is a paradox.   Have we ever wondered why?  We grew up listening to the tales of Goldilocks.  At the end of the tale, we all cry.  Now, we don't even remember the tale.  No matter how hard we try to remember, we fail.  It's something that doesn't affect us now We just know it had to do something with a bear or a cow.  You see, how with time it all fades away.  Time turns every night into a brand new day.  We're all stories waiting to be told. It's just with time, our tales will hold. Time , you see is a subtle illusion.  Just like a magician cutting up a human.  Ah. Did i mention time is a paradox? We've all heard of the grandfather's paradox. But does it really explain why would you want to kill your grandfather?  I guess times have really made us bitter and harder.  We have become violent and aggressive over a period. But our wars claim otherwise.  It is said...

Have you ever heard about Noah's snail?  'Noah's snail made it to the ark too.' It's a common expression. It means more than what it states. The snail perceived and reached the ark on time, though later than others but he did succeed all right.  He saw others get ahead of him however he did not lose hope. He took his own sweet time and felt contented once he reached the ark.     Gabriel's mother always called her a Noah's snail. She always made her believe she was hard working even if she wasn't smart and that felt just right. It felt just enough. Gabriel gave her all when it came to her career, her family and  "relationships".     Ah, relationship. The enduring task for a philophobic (one who fears forming an emotional attachment). It's always a sinking ship for them . Well, the idea of opening yourself up to someone else, letting them see the crude pieces of you, the broken bones is just too much of a task.  ...

The ancient truth withstands: Selfish people cannot muddle through the thought of existence of other selfish beings. In order to live peacefully, a selfish person needs a selfless person. Sounds insane, doesn't it? This world works in a weird way. Though it has a monotonous moment, it sure doesn't make the world flat as a pancake. They don't say ' opposites attract '   just for the magnetic effect but maybe just maybe it had a deeper , more significant meaning like the universe was talking about selfish people. "Profound" , I know.  But the moment I realized my swollen eyes had taken control over my legs and I decided to pause and take it all in before it all blacks out , Everyone around , the children whose parents were holding their hands everywhere they went (No reason to be jealous) , the couples who couldn't keep their hands off each other, the single rider who could've easily been confused as a pedophile ( well, for...

When I was eight , my parents took me to a theme park . That morning I woke up feeling giddy in my stomach because I was excited but I didn't know what to expect. This one quote I came across years after what had happened ; 'The expected is what keeps us steady. It's the unexpected that changes our lives forever.' - Grey's anatomy. The first time I read this, that blurred memory of the theme park and what I had attempted to do struck me in the gut.  A night before we went to the park, my dad had mentioned all the rides that we were going to experience and he tried to make it as scary as possible to boost my excitement. But even as a kid , I wasn't scared of the roller coaster.  Then finally , the day came. All that excitement faded away when they measured me. I was a child. Not by age, because that's apparently not important. But my height. I was so mad because my parents left me alone (My version of 'alone' ignores the o...
