The light in the tunnel.
On a sour lonely night surrounded by people,
I saw my perception turn lethal.
I was seated in a moving train while the world slept.
110 kms/ hour. Deafening noises of the rails, I chose to neglect.
2:45 am.
I seeked for interaction.
I used my cell phone as a distraction.
Talked to a loved one about pain.
And through their empty words, I felt disdain.
4:00 am.
Finally, letting my phone die, I resorted to a nap.
Fidgeting all the while, the dream felt like a trap.
Woke up at intervals to check my baggage because the world told me it steals.
Sigh. No wonder when someone stole my heart, I fell head over heels.
6:00 am.
I woke up afresh.
December. Sun still hid behind the dark flesh.
While the world still chose to sleep.
I decided to move to the door and weep.
However, I was taken aback by the wind and the beautiful landscape.
Finally. I forget the agonizing pain. I escape.
I see the sky painted orange, blue, purple.
Thinking, how will I describe this in my journal?
7:00 am.
I sit there in awe.
Abruptly, darkness crawls.
'IT'S A TUNNEL!' , my heart screams.
Suddenly, a mountain belt, a beautiful stream.
Another tunnel, but this one had lights within.
'Just like your soul' , I heard my skin.
They say there is light at the end of the tunnel,
But I found it within the tunnel. 'So can you.', this time my heart whispered. Very subtle.
Find light when it gets dark.
Don't wait for it to pass. Find the spark.
Don't wait for things to get bright.
Because, "happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one remembers to turn on the light."
